So what exactly is prenatal bodywork, and how is it different from the massages I’ve had before?

Prenatal bodywork is therapeutic massage that is customized to the specific needs of a woman as she moves through pregnancy.  As a mother to be, your body is shifting and changing in order to support your growing baby.  Additionally, you’re on a unique inner journey as you prepare—both mentally and emotionally—for childbirth and motherhood.  Certified prenatal massage therapists are trained to recognize and address whatever discomfort you may be experiencing during your pregnancy and provide a safe and nurturing environment for you to relax, let go, and connect with your baby.

what to expect:

Every woman is one of a kind, and no pregnancy is the same.  Therefore, a thorough intake will be completed with you prior to your session so Kayleigh is familiar with your pregnancy, health, and concerns.  She will then customize the massage to your individual needs.  Your comfort and security are of the utmost importance.  To make sure you can truly relax, there are an array of cushions, wedges, and pillows available to support you both laying on your side and reclined on your back.  Using draping techniques specialized to these positions, you can rest assured you’ll be properly covered at all times except for the area receiving treatment.
